Electronic Services Unit is the link between the six projects provided by ICTP at university level and among the different faculties which aims to:

- Increase the effectiveness of university projects.

- Provide excellent services for information technology of faculties.

Vision:

Electronic Services Unit seeks to support the educational, research and administrative system in higher education institutions and improve their outputs through a strong information and knowledge structure.

Mission:

Electronic Services Unit provides the basic elements of a strong information and knowledge structure in higher education institutions. Also, it provides comprehensive electronic services in addition to raising the efficiency of use through human development of beneficiary’s community to support the educational, research and administrative system in higher education institutions and improve their outputs.

Improve the efficiency and the internal information network at faculty by :-

- Activating and maintaining the information network.

- Following up the technical use of network and provide technical support to all users.

- Carrying out the required expansions of the network of wired and wireless network at the faculty in coordination with the university network.

- Activating video conference equipment at the faculty.

Improve efficiency and modernize the infrastructure at the faculty by:-

- Supervising the periodic maintenance of computers and accessories.

- Studying deficiencies and analyzing problems with appropriate solutions for computer systems.

- Preparing periodic reports for computers and laboratories at the faculties.

Standardize the use of operating systems, software and hardware protection against viruses by:-

- Downloading original software and copy anti-virus.

- Updating hardware software.

- Maintaining computers and printers or supervising maintenance contracts.

Work on developing the educational process by strengthening the interaction between students and faculty staff by:-

- Marketing electronic courses and providing technical consultancy and training.

- Training faculty staff and their assistants to raise the educational resources and deal with the electronic portal libraries.

- Training faculty staff to manage student forums.

Use of official e-mail in all administrative transactions as well as in communication with students by:-

- Managing accounts of faculty members by e-mail.

- Activating e-mail service for students and faculty staff.

- Exchanging all documents through e-mail.

Use official website of the faculty to communicate with all concerned parties by :-

- Collecting and publishing faculty news.

- Updating faculty's data on the portal.

- Training and awareness-raising among students on how to benefit from the portal.

Use electronic transactions instead of paper transactions

- Training and offer a technical support to activate the use of MIS

- Training faculty staff and employees on ICT in cooperation with ICTP Training Center at the University.

- Using "Request Tracker" a system used to coordinate and track the execution of tasks among a group of users.

Increase efficiency of use the digital library by:-

- Conducting the beneficiaries’ accounts of faculty members on the digital library.

- Training faculty staff, employees and students to create accounts on Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Search, a service dedicated to students and researchers to find research, summaries and information in any area of scientific research.
